The Monticello Wine Trail announced the results of its annual wine competition in a ceremony at C&O Restaurant on April 11th. Vineyard representatives congregated in the downtown Charlottesville restaurant savoring wine and cheese samplings eager to hear the results of the 2013 competition, which received 64 wines from twenty wineries in the appellation. A tasting panel comprised of sommeliers, retailers, wine buyers and wine professionals awarded the 2013 Monticello Cup to Pollak Vineyards for its 2010 Meritage. Congratulations Pollak Vineyards!
Our very own 2012 Chardonnay took home a Silver medal and made Pippin Hill proud! This satisfying wine full of fresh pears and figs, coupled with wood and earth flavors make it a perfectly balanced wine that is ideal for a Spring afternoon. Our 2012 Vintages, Sauvignon Blanc and Winemaker’s Select White were awarded the Bronze medal.
