Sommelier’s Thanksgiving with Pippin Hill’s Petit Verdot

Virginia is defining what Petit Verdot can do,
and our 2012 is Petit Verdot to the core.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner!  As you prepare your Thanksgiving feast this year, serve your guests Pippin Hill’s 2012 Petit Verdot. We will be releasing our Petit Verdot this upcoming Friday in our Tasting Room.

This wine is deep, almost brooding, boasting a gorgeous dark plum color as is typical of this Bordeaux blending grape. The wine announces aromas of rich chocolate, black pepper, and smoke. An abundance of blackberries and currants on the first sip, enhanced by baking spices, and elegantly supported by a balanced tannic structure and silky smooth texture. Rich, structured and with a nice finish, the wine is endowed with a level of complexity and versatility that allows it to stand up to the myriad flavors on the Thanksgiving table.

Greet your family and friends with a glass of this beautiful wine.  Serve alongside an assortment of strong cheeses and nuts, or better yet, offer as the Virginia red of choice to be paired with the roasted turkey.
